Singing-songwriting twins John and Edward are taking part in this year’s Limerick St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The twins, who have family ties to Limerick, say they are “honoured” to be invited to take part in the city parade during the centenary year of the 1916 Rising.

Edward is quoted as saying:

“Limerick is a beautiful city, which is full of history and I hope it becomes the European Capital of Culture in 2020, I enjoy visiting Limerick because we can reconnect with our relatives and our heritage. It is an exciting, vibrant city with lots to see and do.”.

Jedward will soon be announcing details of a concert in Limerick on May 1st, there are also limited tickets remaining for previously announced concerts this Easter at The Button factory, Dublin on 24th March, The Clayton Hotel, Silver Springs, Cork on 25th, The O2ABC, Glasgow on 27th and The Garage, London on the 28th. Details on Ticketmaster.

John and Edward spoke to Anton Savage at Today FM earlier, about taking part in the parade and their upcoming concerts. They also announced that they’ll be appearing in Sharnado 4, due to be released later this year.
