Pop Twins John and Edward Grimes have been invited to perform on The X Factor UK final this week.

The pair flew to London earlier today and are rumoured to be performing a medley in the show, along with other memorable contestants such as Rylan Clark and Kitty Brucknell.

Earlier in the week, in an interview with The Metro, X Factor Judge, Gary Barlow, blamed the lack of interesting characters for drop in viewer numbers this series.

The twins, who have recently returned from a tour of Australia, will be jetting back to Ireland after the show to start their annual panto run at The Olympia Theatre, Dublin.
